I cant just set it back to a few days ago. Possibly the most stupid thing I have ever done. Ps irritatingly, I was going to make a system restore point after putting everything on. I know my way around the front user end of pro tools very well but im not the most techy person - how can i find out if its another plug in causing the issue? Is the fact that it crashed on the waveshell 9.6 dialogue box a red herring? If I open pro tools projects from the projects directly themselves, they work perfectly and pro tools is totally stable, I can run loads of channels etc and barely touch my CPU - but if I try and open protools just from its normal desktop icon, it crashes my computer and causes a blue screen with the stopcodeĬould something have updated and destabilsed things perhaps? Now my computer is without Waves what im thinking was the cause possibly wasnt? It didnt always do this, (this is only over the last couple of days) and in fact worked fine yesterday, for a whole day.īut today, again it was just crashing on booting up pro tools - so I removed the space echo plug in and waves/waves central (in its entirety - including going through and removing the waveshell detritus left that was not taken after the unistall (because after the routine unistall, pro tools was still coming up with the 9.6 waveshell 'do you want to rescan plug ins' box!!) I checked on the internet and followed an excellent guide to properly cleaning it out. then it would crash and blue screen my computer. It was absolutely fine (with native instruments stuff and allsorts) - then, around the time I added Waves Platinum bundle 9.2.3 and a little plug in (very nice echoplex style reverb from outerthing) pro tools started getting very upset.Īlthough it didnt seem to be immediate when i added waves - when I opened pro tools it was coming up with the waveshell 9.6 box asking if I wanted to rescan plug ins etc.

I have a brand new PC, amazingly stable (hopefully), 6xi7 processor, 64 bit, windows 10 professional, 64 gig ram PC. I couldnt find anything that sounded the same on these forums so thought I would post.
